Open Innovation Strategy
The Japanese manufacturing industry, despite its technological strengths, faces challenges such as intensifying global competition and the rapid development of digital technology.
Many of them are feeling the limitations of their own R&D and are seeking a strategic combination of their own R&D and open innovation.
How are they trying to create synergies with their own R&D capabilities to emerge innovations by setting up an organization directly under the CTO to execute innovation strategies?
We will discuss the strategic use of open innovation in R&D based on our experience working with and investing in more than 200 startups through our work in CVC and new business startups.
This is essential for those in the R&D, technology planning, and intellectual property fields who are working to create businesses in new areas, as well as for technology-related departments whose mission is open innovation, and technology planning, R&D, intellectual property, and business development departments.
How they have realized numerous collaborations by turning their long business and sales experience into strengths despite their background as biotech researchers, and how they are developing new areas not only in startups but also in collaboration with other companies and academia.
We will look at Mr. Uraki’s flexible approach to the challenges of promoting open innovation and his commitment to results.
