Open Source to SDV’s Functional Safety Infrastructure
Electrobit announces EB corbos Linux for Safety Applications, the world’s first open source operating system solution for automotive functional safety standards. The solution has been technically evaluated for SEooC according to ISO 26262 ASIL B with our unique hypervisor-based functional safety extensions. for the first time in the area of safety-related high-performance computing (HPC) functions such as ADAS and IVI. Linux can now be used for the first time in the area of safety-related high-performance computing (HPC) functions such as ADAS and IVI, and also contributes to reducing development costs over the entire lifecycle by eliminating the need for re-certification of the entire in-vehicle system when the Linux kernel is updated.
EB corbos Linux for Safety Applications is expected to improve the safety of in-vehicle HPC with Linux. The importance of functional safety, the role of Linux in in-vehicle systems, and the impact of functional safety standards on Linux-based in-vehicle systems are interesting.
Thus, while there are challenges to in-vehicle communication in SDV, the use of secure open source Linux for in-vehicle HPC is expected to bring the benefits of using open source for automotive applications and the potential of software for hardware accelerators to optimize in-vehicle communication in SDV. The following is a brief overview of the project.
