Technological trends in EV 800V/48V systems and the latest evaluation methods for EV batteries

What are the power electronics systems applied to the 800V/48V system for electric vehicles adopted by Tesla and the required measurement technology?

This section presents an overview of the power electronics required by the introduction of the 800 V voltage system and 48 V system used in the cybertrucks that Tesla has started to release in 2023 for use in electric vehicles, and explains their usefulness and technological bottlenecks. Furthermore, the measurement technologies required for the development of these power electronics systems will be introduced and discussed from the thermal, noise and system perspectives. In particular, various measurement technologies for high-speed GaN power semiconductor applications will be highlighted.

The latest EV battery test solutions will be presented. A programmable bi-directional power supply that reflects real driving scenarios with accurate test protocols evaluates battery performance through charge-discharge and dynamic testing, as well as performing important grading in Li-ion battery manufacturing. Find out how to maximise battery performance and reliability in the booming EV market.

There are various standards for in-vehicle camera/display interfaces, which are the elemental technologies for the next generation of automated driving and infotainment. How should they be evaluated? We will give an overview of standards and measurement solutions with a focus on MIPI A-PHY, ASA , GMSL and GVIF, which are the main I/Fs of the third/fourth generation.
